Court board has sentenced three of 10 academics E.B., G.M. and Canan Özbey to 1 year and 3 months in prison. The other seven hearings and one at the 24th Heavy Penal Court have been adjourned.

Prof. Dr. Onur Hamzaoğlu was detained on 9 February and arrested on 17 February. He remains in Sincan Prison in Ankara. He has been deprived of his freedom since 9 February 2018. He was taken from his home by security forces while not convicted or wanted for any offence.

Seven academics have had their second hearings at two courts. The hearings that were supposed to start at 10.45 a.m. were held with a delay of 10 hours and 22 minutes at 9.07 p.m. The requests have been rejected and hearings adjourned.

Seven academics have had their second hearings at the 34th and 35th Heavy Penal Courts. The prosecutor has stated his opinion as to the accusations and demanded that five academics be penalized as per the Article no. 7/2 of the Anti-Terror Law.
