While one academic has been given a deferred prison sentence of 1 year, 10 months, 15 days, the court has also ruled that the speech of Bese Hozat, whose name is mentioned in the indictment, shall be added to the case file upon the request of the lawyer.

Trial of academics, who have been charged with "propagandizing for a terrorist organization" for having signed the declaration entitled "We will not be a party to this crime" prepared by the Academics for Peace, continued in İstanbul Çağlayan Courthouse today (March 28).

33. ACM'de bir akademisyene hükmün açıklanması geri bırakılarak 22 ay 15 gün hapis cezası verildi. 25. ACM'de ise avukatın talebi üzerine iddianamede söz edilen Bese Hozat'ın konuşmasının dosyaya eklenmesine karar verildi.

Barış İçin Akademisyenlerin “Bu suça ortak olmayacağız” bildirisini  imzaladıkları için "Terör örgütü propagandası" suçlamasıyla yargılanan akademisyenlerin duruşmaları Çağlayan’daki İstanbul Adliyesi’nde devam etti.

While the 27th Heavy Penal Court has sentenced Feyza Akınerdem and Neş’e Bilgin to 15 months in prison, it has given a prison sentence of 2 years, 6 months to Ali Kerem Saysel, who concluded his remarks by saying “Demand for peace cannot be tried.”

Academic Gevher Gökçe has been sentenced to 2 years and 1 month in prison on charge of “aiding a terrorist organization as a non-member.” The prison sentence of the academic has not been deferred.
